Kevin, I admire and respect your optimism and suggestions for constructive solutions. I'm wondering, however, if the comparison of AI to previous technological innovations holds. It would seem to me that the overall implications and pervasiveness of AI in the future transcend the printing press, the assembly line, the internet and past major advances.

You state, "Transparency is the bedrock of accountability……. Energy can instead be channeled into designing and implementing robust, adaptive governance structures. This involves creating clear rules for fairness, accountability, and human oversight;.." Can we trust the government to follow this model?

It will take unified effort and cohesion to develop these structures. Given how divided society is now not only in the US, but throughout the goal, is this possible. I hope so!
